The Thornhill Lopez Center on 4th (aka TLC4)

hosts & houses youth programming & services.

The facilities central use is hosting the EON Lounge of the

EON Youth Group allowing a safe space for LGBTQIA+ and allied youth.

 

Founded in 2017, The Thornhill Lopez Center on 4th (TLC4) on 4th Avenue

in downtown Tucson Arizona strives to provide a safe place for

local and those from other states LGBTQIA+ and allied youth

between the ages of 13-24 years old to visit for accessing

a variety of youth services supporting their

health, well-being, stability, and lives.  

 

One report of the organization Human Rights Campaign (aka HRC),

states less than 50% [fifty per cent] of LGBTQIA+ youth

in the United States say they do not have an adult in their family

they could ever count on to turn to for any assistance. 

 

Of the myriad problems faced by these youth,

some of the most important problems encountered

by LGBTQIA+ youth in their lives currently include:

 

a non-accepting family,

bullying and other problems both in & out of school,

a fear of being out or outed,

being blackmailed,

and or being physically attacked.

 

The Thornhill Lopez Center on 4th (TLC4)
strives to provide or can refer youth to needed services and support
youth need including but not limited to:

 

 

Drop-by services at the downtown location

Homeless youth support

Food, clothing, and housing-referral assistance

Showers

Suicide prevention programming

Sexual-violence prevention programming

HIV testing and counseling

Substance abuse prevention

Sex-positive education

Life skills

Referral to other Tucson and Pima County community programs

Culturally competent care

Computer access

Art expression

Peer socialization

A safe place to be themselves
